Tinkercad Choice Sprint

Goal

Create one small original object that applies your new Tinkercad skills. Begin only after your keychain has been completed and submitted. Depending on your pace, you may start this during Day 5 and continue during the next class. Keep the scope small enough to complete well.

Choose one path

A. Useful micro-object

Design a small cable guide, label, clip, holder, stand, organizer component, accessibility aid, or another approved useful object.

Examples of an appropriate sprint scale: simple cable management, a clip, a label holder, and a compact stand. Use these as inspiration rather than designs to copy.

B. Game piece or token

Design one recognizable game piece, counter, marker, miniature, or token with an original theme.

C. Personal symbol or display object

Create a small object that communicates an interest, identity, idea, or visual theme without simply repeating your keychain.

Examples of small display objects built around different interests and visual themes. Your object should communicate something you choose.

Keep the sprint small

  • Use a maximum dimension of approximately 70 mm, unless another size is approved.
  • Make one thumbnail sketch, not a full planning package.
  • Write one sentence explaining the user, purpose, or message.
  • Choose one measurable success criterion.
  • Use at least three Tinkercad techniques intentionally.
  • Ask for one quick peer check.
  • Make and document one purposeful improvement.

Suggested pace

First class

  1. Choose a path and sketch the idea.
  2. Confirm that the scope fits the available time.
  3. Build the complete basic form.
  4. Export an STL backup before leaving.

Second class

  1. Finish the important details.
  2. Use the Quick Design Check.
  3. Make one evidence-based improvement.
  4. Review the design using Reviewing Your Design.
  5. Follow the submission instructions.

Evidence for Notion

  • One sketch and purpose statement
  • Progress screenshot
  • Peer feedback
  • Before-and-after evidence of one improvement
  • Final screenshot and STL file
  • Daily reflection response
